Agliana
Agliana is located in the province of Pistoia, crossed by streams Brana and Bure. The country is bordered by the following municipalities: Pistoia, Quarrata, Montale, Prato and Montemurlo. The origin of the name Agliana seems to come from the name of the river "Agna." The territory already known in Roman times, was then dominated by Guidi and the Florentine family of the Pazzi, to be unified in the state Florentine. Its development is due mainly by road "Cassia" that linked the town of Florence, Lucca and Pistoia. The town became autonomous since 1913, entering a part of the Province of Pistoia starting in 1927.
