Quarrata

The town of Quarrata and placed within the province of Pistoia. It takes nickname of "city furniture" to the presence on the territory of numerous small and medium enterprises specialized in the production and marketing of furniture. The town is located between Prato and Pistoia underlying Montalbano. Among its monuments are the Màgia, an ancient castle built by Vinciguerra Panciatichi around 1320. Following the revocation of the family was purchased on November 26, 1583 by Grand de 'Medici, and amended in a villa to give support to his hunting within the park real, also becoming part of Medici Villas. Later the building became the property of Countess Marcella Cellesi Amati, until the assignment to the Commune.
